Notes and disclaimers:

1. ISPC has done its best to accurately research and present the basic finances and positions of the candidates in the competitive open Democratic primariy elections in Illinois for the U.S. Senate, 2nd, 7th, 8th, and 9th Congressional Districts. We prioritized these races because the winners of these democratic primaries are the likely winners in November-they are considered “safe seats”. That means the primary elections are of particular importance. However, we did send our 2026 candidate survey to candidates in both parties for these races. Going forward, we hope to expand the information we present to include the nominees for both parties for the November election in 2026.

2. Voters must use their own judgement in evaluating the information presented. We are only seeking to aggregate in one place the available, public information for voters wanting to know more specifically about health care as an issue in the 2026 election cycle as a public service. We have quoted their statements and positions on health care as indicated on their websites. We encourage people to also check out social media accounts and campaign ads . There are simply too many candidates in the primary races we are highlighting to collect all of those posts and videos here.

3. ISPC is a non-profit, non-partisan 501c3 organization that does not endorse or oppose candidates or campaign for them. We have presented information available to the public without commentary, without favor or disfavor. The candidates are listed in alphabetical order.

4. We do not claim to solely or definitively represent the candidates views or positions nor their campaign finances. To that point, much of campaign fundraising and spending is undisclosed through pac, super pac and other third-party entities. For example, you will see contributions bundled through platforms, notably ActBlue. Voters will need to research any available reporting from other sources on outside fundraising and spending in the highlighted races.

5. The research was conducted in-house and should be used a an opportunity to find out more, which is why direct links to FEC data and candidate websites are provided. This is a new project for ISPC. We have undoubtedly made errors and for that we apologize in advance.
